Dr. Moliver to Run the NYC Marathon in November to Benefit Team For Kids

The paperwork is submitted, and Dr. Moliver is confirmed to run the NYC Marathon this fall! He’s often talked of being committed to running and overall physical fitness. Now he’s putting his body to one of our country’s ultimate tests … 26 miles through the streets of New York, and he’s doing it to raise money and awareness for educating kids about being healthy.

Team for Kids is a committed group of adult runners from around the world who add meaning to their miles by raising funds on behalf of New York Road Runners youth services.

Funds raised by Team for Kids members allow New York Road Runners (NYRR) to provide free or low-cost school- and community-center based health and fitness programs to children who would otherwise have little to no access to regular physical activity. Currently, their programs serve nearly 100,000 children each year in more than 400 schools and community centers in New York City, nationally, and in Africa.

NYRR began providing youth programs in 1998. The foremost running organization in the world, NYRR’s premier event is the ING New York City Marathon. NYRR’s running-based youth programs promote children’s physical fitness, character development, and personal achievement in under-served communities. Our youth programs currently serve as many as 100,000 children a week in hundreds of schools and community centers. Having proven successful in New York City, the programs are now being established across the United States and in Africa.

Physical education was virtually eliminated from New York City public schools a quarter century ago, and now a second generation of a million plus students is growing up without the character lessons and physical conditioning inherent in the sport of running. Our running-based physical education programs teach fitness, goal-setting and the relationship between effort and achievement, while helping youth develop the self-esteem, healthy habits and discipline necessary for success in school, your small business or life.
