Maintaining Beautiful Skin

Everyone wants clear and beautiful skin right? How can you do this? You don’t necessarily have to use any chemical or creams. There are a couple of types of food that you can eat which will help you with this. These include: seafood, citrus fruits, red and green vegetables, nuts, and whole grains.

Seafood: tuna, oysters, salmon, you name it! Seafood is great for your complexion and they contain nutrients such as: zinc and omega-3 fatty acids. We’ve all heard about fish oil tablets and the supposed miracle pill it can be. Omega-3 can reduce dryness and inflammation. Inflammation mainly causes the skin to age faster and can keep the heart’s arteries clear. The increased circulation can help increase the healthiness of your skin and contribute to clearer skin. The zinc contained in fish can help fight acne because it metabolizes testosterone which can affect the production of the oils in your skin, also known as sebum.

Citrus fruits: contain lots of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is important because it aids in the production of collagen. Consuming extra vitamin C can help tighten skin and prevent wrinkles. Vitamin C can also help fight inflammation and neutralize the free radicals which can damage cells and prematurely age the face.

Red and Green Vegetables: spinach, brussel sprouts, broccoli, everything you didn’t want to eat as a kid. Who knew it could be healthy right? These contain lots of Vitamin A and beta-carotene. Orange red vegetables contain beta-carotene which is converted into Vitamin A by our bodies which can act as an antioxidant.

Nuts: contain lots and lots of Vitamin E. Vitamin E also combats skin-aging free radicals which can help protect the skin from sun damage. It also helps the skin to lock in moisture, relieving dryness and making it look much younger.

Whole grains: contain rutin and B-vitamins. B-vitamins assist the body in processing fats. Rutin is a great antioxidant which can help combat inflammation-related skin damage. The replacement of whole wheat instead of processed carbs can aid in the reduction of acne. Processed carbs can cause an insulin spike which can result in acne. The reduction in consumption of processed carbs can also reduce the risk of developing diabetes.
