Interesting Plastic Surgery Procedures
Some recent interesting plastic surgeries have popped up recently in the news: palm plastic surgery and pet plastic surgery.
Palmistry, or palm reading, is something that is practiced all over the world. It is specifically rooted in Indian astrology and Roman fortune-telling. The goal of palm reading is to study the lines which are in the palm, which can provide insight into the future of someone’s life. The Japanese believe they can tempt fate by using plastic surgery to alter the lines in their palms. The procedure reportedly costs around $1000. The procedure takes about 10 to 15 minutes and is performed with an electric scalpel and can take about a month to heal properly.
Pet plastic surgery is also another interesting one. Sometimes it can be beneficial to the pet’s health while at other times it is completely cosmetic. These cosmetic surgeries are often not covered by pet insurance and can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars. Some cosmetic surgeries that have come through can include: pierced ears and artsy tattoos.
Some other surgeries that our fellow humans opted for which you might find interesting include:
Ear Pointing- Who doesn’t want to want to look like spock? A small wedge of the ear is removed and the remainder is stitched together. The cost for such a procedure can run you around $1,800. It is important to note that this procedure is not normally performed by a doctor, but by “body modifiers” who are not exactly board certified.
Voice Lift – Want to sound like Morgan Freeman? Maybe not, the procedure involves quite a bit and may not even provide you with the results you want. The neck is sliced open and then implants are placed inside your vocal cords. The cost for such a procedure is anywhere between $3,500 – $7,000.
Abdominal Implants – don’t feel like working out? Forget Mike Chang’s six pack shortcut workouts. A surgeon can place actual implants in order to mimic abdominal muscles. The procedure involves an incision at the belly button and placement of six to eight implants. Often times, the implants are coupled with a tummy tuck procedure in order to provide better access to the abdominal muscles.
