Be More Photogenic

Social media is quickly giving rise to narcissists. However, people are now more aware of their facial flaws due to the way in which people are viewed online. There’s multiple outlets: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. People can now view themselves from every angle due to ubiquitous amount of photos. People want to look their best because it’s no longer being viewed only by close friends. It’s possible that these pictures are viewed by everyone across the web. It is true however, that the overall numbers of plastic surgeries have risen over the past few years, and this may be one of those reasons.

Lucky for you there are a few ways in which you can be a little more photogenic without plastic surgery.

  1. Turn off the flash– If possible use natural light. The flash on cameras creates harsh shadows which can accentuate certain features which are not as photogenic. Of course there are some instances where you cannot get a picture without using a flash i.e in a bar, club, various dark venues.
  2. Minimize the shine – excessive shiny skin can sometimes reveal an uneven texture. In order to minimize the shine for females, use a matte powder on the forehead, under the eyes, and over rough skin for a smoother look in photos.
  3. Tilting the head – When posing, you want to avoid having a double chin. In order to do this, you can elongate your neck and slightly angle your jaw down a bit. Most people may appear slightly better on camera when posed this way.
  4. Tilting your body – When you shift your body slightly to the side and twist your body, it can make you look a little bit slimmer.
  5. Don’t look at the camera – It makes you seem like you are trying too hard. Try to look a little higher than the camera for posed pictures. Some photographers have a little marker on top of their camera where you can look for the photo. If you want to test this, just try the two pictures yourself and see the difference instantly.
  6. Smile – This may be one of the easiest ways to improve your photos. A genuine smile will come across as being photogenic.
