New TV Series covers Botched Plastic Surgeries

A new TV series has popped up in the realm of plastic surgery. The plastic surgeons Paul Nassif and Terry Dubrow plan to reverse failed medical procedures. These patients range from a woman with massive breast implants to the man who attempted to look like Justin Bieber.

Dubrow states that there is a lot of bad plastic surgery out there that can be changed. He wants to make it known that they are making transformations from ugly to swan. Those that can’t be helped are the plastic surgery junkies. Those who have already had so much plastic surgery that they have unrealistic expectations are not fixable.

Every patient that Dr. Nassif works with has a psychologist clear them beforehand to see if they have any body dysmorphic disorders, OCD, problems with their body image, or any other problems that may preclude them from receiving treatment.

In other news, a student took out a $17,000 school loan to spend it on plastic surgery. Katerina Christodoulou spent the entire sum on plastic surgery for her thighs, bum, hips and knees. Her ex-boyfriend bought her breast augmentations surgery. She now plants to pursue a career as a model. It should be noted that under British higher education rules that students who take a loan from the government must pay it within 25 years once they start earning more than $28,000 a year. If they cannot pay it back within 25 years the sum gets passed onto the tax payers. Seems like a fitting way to spend your tax dollars in the UK right?

In international news, we already know that South Korea is the plastic surgery capital of the world, but what about Korean Americans? It seems that they are also getting plastic surgery as well but not being as open about it. The most common procedure among them is Eyelid surgery, which is also known as blepharoplasty. The goal of the surgery is to create a crease in their eyelid to produce “double eyelids”. Approximately 44% of Asian Americans who have surgeries are getting a blepharoplasty.
