Nipple Reduction Case #17

This is a 31 year old mother of two who was considering breast augmentation. She is of Asian descent. During her consultation, the surgeon found a 5’2”, 105 pound, petite lady with small A cup breasts. She was excellent candidate for breast augmentation. Her nipples were above the inframammary fold and there was no ptosis (drooping), however, her nipples were quite long. The recommendation was for a breast augmentation using silicone implants in combination with a nipple reduction. The technique used for the nipple reduction was performed using an instrument named after our very own Dr. Moliver, the “Moliver forceps”. It allows amputation of the desired length to be taken off the nipple. The patient was instructed to apply antibiotic ointment and a nonadherent dressing over her nipples daily. It took 10 days for the patient’s nipples to heal and at picture time they looked like they had always been that way, perfect!
